Writer/Director RUBEN ÖSTLUND
Ruben Östlund’s, Triangle of Sadness (2022) is a social satire told in three acts: each with its own narrative delight.
The film has raised controversy in critics circles and is one of the most divisive Palme d’Or winners in years. From one perspective, some may consider the underlined themes and evident targets in the work as lacking refinement and subtlety. Conversely, others contend that these targets warrant satirical criticism, and the writer/director, known for films like "Force Majeure" and "The Square," employs their wit to deliver a brilliantly precise and uproarious ridiculing.
Östlund's critique of the superficial elite presents unquestionably sharp dialogues and captivating narrative turns. As expected, Woody Harrelson delivered an outstanding performance, showcasing his unwavering talent. I found this film to be distinct, hilarious, and captivating. I definately recommend it.
Triangle of Sadness is free to view with Amazon Prime now so press play this evening (perhaps not with a meal) and get ready for an idiosyncratic ride.
